Director of Youth Ministry (Part-Time) 

First United Methodist Church of O'Fallon is seeking a passionate and relational part-time Director of Youth Ministry to lead and grow our ministry for students in grades 6-12. This position partners with parents, volunteers, and church staff to help students grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and become active participants in the life of the church.

Essential duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Plan and lead weekly youth ministry gatherings for students in grades 6-12.
  • Organize mission opportunities, retreats, fellowship events, and service projects.
  • Recruit, train, and support volunteers who serve in youth ministry.
  • Build relationships with students and their families while providing spiritual encouragement and care.
  • Collaborate with church staff to strengthen ministry opportunities for youth and their families.
  • Develop and oversee the vision, programming, and budget for the youth ministry.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or certification in youth ministry or a related field with one year of experience, or two or more years of youth ministry experience.

  • Ability to recruit, encourage, and equip volunteers for ministry.

Marketing & Communications Specialist
(Part-Time) 

First United Methodist Church of O'Fallon is seeking a creative and organized part-time Marketing & Communications Specialist to help share the mission and ministries of our church through print, digital, and multimedia communications.

Essential duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Create and execute communication strategies that promote the ministries of First United Methodist Church of O'Fallon.
  • Develop, manage, and maintain the church's website and social media platforms with current and engaging content.
  • Create graphics, newsletters, promotional materials, and other print and digital communications.
  • Coordinate photography, videography, and multimedia resources to support church communications and worship.
  • Collaborate with church staff and ministry leaders to communicate events, ministries, and opportunities effectively.
  • Support multimedia needs for worship services and online engagement.

Qualifications
  • Has a growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
  • Bachelor's degree or at least one year of marketing, communications, or related experience.
  • Experience with digital communication tools and graphic design software such as Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud.

Accompanist (Part-Time) 

First United Methodist Church of O'Fallon is seeking a skilled and collaborative part-time Accompanist to work alongside our Director of Music in creating meaningful traditional worship experiences that connect imperfect people to a perfect God.

Essential duties include (but are not limited to):
  • Rehearse weekly with the Chancel Choir and occasionally with other ensembles or soloists.
  • Provide piano accompaniment for worship, including prelude, postlude, and communion music as requested by the Director of Music.
  • Provide musical accompaniment for additional worship services and church events throughout the year, including choir concerts, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter, and Christmas Eve services.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Music to support integrated and thematic worship experiences.
  • Provide accompaniment for funerals, memorial services, weddings, and other special events as needed, with additional compensation for services outside the position's base responsibilities.
  • Meet with the Director of Music and Pastor as needed and practice at the church as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Has a growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
  • Proficient musical skills on the piano.
  • General knowledge of current copyright laws.
  • Experience accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists is preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, musicians, and volunteers.
  • A desire to use musical gifts to support meaningful worship and help others experience the presence of God.
