Advent Series and Study
You probably know the four key words for the weeks of Advent: Hope, Joy, Love, and Peace. We celebrate them every Advent, we live into the throughout the season, and we expect to experience them. But what about when we encounter the unexpected? What happens when dreams die, innocence is lost, the “other” is outcast, and the marginalized are forgotten? Is peace, love, joy and hope still possible? In “An Unlikely Advent” series, I will be exploring these questions, and I will be leading a study group on Sunday and Wednesday (the same chapter will be covered both days). I hope you will join me for this Advent study as we prepare for Christmas.

Christmas Cantata
The Cantata this year is titled “A New & Glorious Morn! Celebrating the Light and Life of Christmas" by Lloyd Larson. Focusing on the reality that in Christ the old is gone and all things are made new (2 Cor. 5:17) A New & Glorious Morn celebrates the dawning of this new day of promise that continues through the generations to each of us as we anticipate the fulfillment of the Christmas promise. With the blending of new and familiar lyrics and ageless melodies, you will experience anew the reality of God’s incomparable love this Christmas.

Blue Christmas
Christmas can be a time of great love and joy, but it can also be a season of loneliness and loss. Lament is an important part of the Christian tradition. Through lament, we recognize the good, God-given gifts that have been lost. And we focus our attention on the One who knows us deeply, understands our pain, and gives us hope. Our Blue Christmas service will focus on lament, loss, and the Hope that we find in Jesus. Invite your friends who’ve walked through loss to join you in this journey.
